Main screen


The main screen of the app displays the map, your current location and basic controls:

  1. Map scale - related to the selected zoom
  2. Attribution - copyright of the map data and interface provider
  3. Cursor - the pointer displaying info about POIs, defining places for creating user points, etc.
  4. Current location - your location according to GPS and other sensors
  5. Track recording - starts recording your activity
  6. Map selection - opens the map selection dialog
  7. Centering and map rotation - one tap centers the map screen on your location. Double-tap rotates the map according to the compass
  8. Zooming - buttons for fluent map zooms changing
  9. Main menu - opens the general selection of app features and settings
  10. Function panel - buttons for quick search, adding a new point, and displaying GPS status.

Map control

  • you can shift the map by simple touching and dragging
  • zoom it in/out by pinching . If you prefer single-hand control, double-tap and drag the map to zoom it. Otherwise, use the zooming buttons.
  • to place your GPS location in the middle of the map screen, tap the centering button:
  • to rotate the map according to your heading or by compass, tap the centering button again:

You can also rotate the map manually with two fingers.

The main menu button slides up a panel with the Locus account login, an offer of the basic features, app settings and the Premium subscription menu.

Login

Tapping the login button displays a selection of services for login/signup to a Locus account: an e-mail, Apple, Google and Facebook:
When you are logged in, your user name and email address are displayed on the header:

Settings

Opens a screen with various configurable parameters of the app >>

Go Premium

Here you can select your Premium plan. The options become available after logging in with your user account. After subscribing to Premium, the section is renamed to My Premium and becomes a place where you can review your subscription and cancel it.

Download offline maps

This option opens a selection of maps that you can download for offline use. More info >>
