====== How Do I Control Locus Map? ======

===== The main screen =====
What do you see when you start the app for the first time? After quick initialization the main screen appears:

  * by default, the main screen is covered by **[[manual:user_guide:maps_locusmaps|online LoMap]]**. This can be changed according to your preferences in the **[[manual:user_guide:maps_mmanager|map manager]]** or **[[manual:user_guide:locus_store:about|Locus Store]]**.
  * your actual **GPS location is in the middle of the screen**. If the circle is full blue, your position is fixed
  * bottom panel contains the **[[manual:user_guide:settings:mainmenu|main menu]]** button, centering/rotation button, **[[manual:user_guide:functions:search|search]]** button, **[[manual:user_guide:tools:gps|GPS/Compass]]** button/indicator and **[[manual:user_guide:functions:panel|function panel setting]]** button.
===== Map control =====

  * you can **move** the map by simple **touching and dragging** {{:manual:basics:draw.png?nolink&30|}}
  * **zoom it** in/out by **pinching** {{:manual:basics:pinch.png?nolink&30|}}. If you prefer single hand control, you can **double-tap and drag** the map to zoom it. If you prefer using **zooming buttons**, activate them in //Locus settings > Display > [[manual:user_guide:settings:control#panels_buttons|Panels&buttons]]//.
  * to place your **GPS location in the middle**, tap the centering button:\\ {{ :manual:basics:mainscreen01.png?nolink |}}\\ To maintain your location **fixed in the middle**, tap and hold the centering button until the confirmation appears:\\ {{ :manual:basics:mainscreen03.png?nolink |}}\\ When you shift the map your position gets back to the center after 5 seconds.
  * to **rotate the map** according to your heading or by compass, tap the centering button twice:\\ {{ :manual:basics:mainscreen02.png?nolink |}}
===== The main menu =====
  * it slides up from the bottom after you tap the **menu button**:\\ {{ :manual:basics:mainmenu02.png?nolink |}}
  * the **first slide up** shows 8 buttons with the **major features**:\\ {{ :manual:basics:mainmenu.png?nolink |}}\\ **[[manual:user_guide:functions:search|Search]], [[manual:user_guide:maps_mmanager|Map manager]], [[manual:user_guide:functions:navigation:point-to-point|Navigate to]], [[manual:user_guide:tracks:management|Tracks&Routes manager]], [[manual:user_guide:tracks:recording|Track recording]], [[manual:user_guide:tracks:planning|Route planner]], [[manual:user_guide:points:management|Points manager]]** and **[[manual:user_guide:functions:share|Share]]**\\ <WRAP center round tip >

  *  the last button **All features**{{:manual:user_guide:ic_more_ver_alt.png?nolink&30|}} opens a list of **[[manual:user_guide|all features]]** of Locus Map.
  * when you slide the menu upper some more options emerge:\\ {{ :manual:basics:mainmenu03.png?nolink |}}
  * **[[https://www.locusmap.app/premium/|Go Premium]]** offers the unlimited options of the app
