===== Downgrade =====
It may happen that the newest version of Locus Map doesn't work as you've expected and you want to **downgrade**. We respect that and we offer older versions for download and installation from our **[[https://bit.ly/lmVersions|public repository]]**:
==== Instructions ====
  * (optional) change the location of the **[[manual:user_guide:settings:backup_fsys#set_custom_sub-directories|custom subdirectories]]** (if you have any) to **the default within the main app's directory**
  * create a **[[manual:user_guide:settings:backup_fsys#manual_backup|backup of your data]]** and store it outside of the main app directory, e.g. to the system "download" folder 
  * go to Locus settings > Backup & Filesystem > [[manual:user_guide:settings:backup_fsys#app_data_transfer|App data transfer]] > **unload app data**
  * select e.g. "download" directory and create a **new folder** in it. Name it e.g. "locus_data". **Confirm**.
  * **uninstall** Locus Map and **reboot** your device
  * **select** a desired Locus Map version APK file from the repository and **install it** (this requires additional permission to install apps from unknown sources)
  * **[[https://docs.locusmap.app/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:settings:backup_fsys#load_app_data|load app data]]** from the "locus_data" folder - be aware that the **older version may not be compatible with the data from new versions**. If you are unsure, skip this and proceed to the next step.

  * **restart** Locus Map

==== Recent versions of Locus Map ====
At the moment, we produce three variations of both our apps, Locus Map 4 and Locus Classic:
  * **Google Play** version - for devices with Google Play services, APK file name contains "//GooglePlay//"
  * **Google Play Afa** version - for devices with Google Play services, with **All Files Access** permission, APK file name contains "//GooglePlayAfa//"
  * **Amazon** version - for devices without Google Play services and with Amazon Appstore. APK file name contains "//Amazon//"

===== Older Android OS =====

If you would like to install your app but you have a device with an older Android version that is not supported by the current Locus Map available in Google Play Store, you can **download and install a version compatible with your Android OS**.

**Locus Map Pro**

To use an older Locus Map Pro, you have to purchase a license for Locus Map Classic. Please do so in the [[https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=menion.android.locus.pro|Google Play Store]] in an Android emulator on your PC, running Android higher than 6.0 (e.g. [[https://www.bluestacks.com|Bluestacks]]) - the license validation will work for the old Locus Map Pro as well.
